Thubten Damchoe - Translator
Damchoe trained at Kopan Monastery, Kathmandu, Nepal, the heart center of
the FPMT and was a monk for more than 20 years. He came to Kurukulla Center
as Geshe Tsulga's interpreter in 1999. In addition to his duties as translator,
he is also working towards a Bachelor of Arts degree. We are very fortunate
to have Damchoe as Kurukulla's translator, giving us access to Geshe Tsulga's
teachings with precision, dedication and humor. As well, the center benefits
from Damchoe's many other skills including ritual arts and as chant leader
at pujas leading with his deep, resonate voice. His email is damchoe@kurukulla.org.

Wendy Kan - Librarian
Wendy became interested in Buddhism early on, mostly through literary investigation. When she decided to join a Buddhist community, she first found the Boston Shambhala Center in Brookline, where she was a member for 2 or 3 years. Wanting to study at a center that had a resident lama, she began attending teachings at Kurukulla in the spring of 2003, where she has been a regular member ever since. Currently one of the ways she helps the center, is by keeping track of the comings and goings of the books in the library. She also helps to organize and manage the tape archive. If you're looking for a book or a recording of one of our events, don't hesitate to ask her advice. Wendy lives in Norwood, where she's a test/product engineer at a high-tech chip manufacturer. Her other interests include acupuncture and yoga, especially in relation to her spiritual path. |
