Breaking through Illusions: Karma, Emptiness and the Twelve Links of Dependent Origination. (Day 1 of 2)

When the great Buddhist Master, Venerable Choden Rinpoche was asked recently how one can tell whether or not a teacher is qualified, he responded, "If they teach the relationship between karma and emptiness."

During this weekend Venerable Chogkiy will be teaching just that, showing the relationship between these two fundamental Buddhist concepts in relation to the Twelve Links of Dependent Origination, which shows how we create our ongoing states of dissatisfaction and existence driven by attachment, aversion and ignorance and how we can ultimately liberate ourselves completely from these to attain peaceful, blissful state of a fully awakened being finally free from the endless cycles of birth, death and rebirth. ___________________________________________________________________________________________

Venerable Tenzin Chogkyi first became interested in meditation after reading Be Here Now and Autobiography of a Yogi in the early '70's. In 1991 with the intention of meeting His Holiness the Dalai Lama she bought a one-way ticket to India. She then became a student not only of His Holiness, but also of Kirti Tsenshab Rinpoche and Lama Zopa Rinpoche during the year she spent studying at Tushita Meditation Centre in Dharamsala and Kopan Monastery in Kathmandu.

Tenzin Chogkyi has worked at various positions within the FPMT including Director of Vajrapani Institute, Co-Director of FPMT International Office and FPMT Center Services Coordinator. She has also completed more than five years of solo meditation retreats.

She took novice ordination in 2004 with His Holiness and since 2006 she has been teaching at various FPMT centers around the globe. She is interested in hospice work and animal rescue, and helped establish the Karuna Animal Sanctuary near Dharamsala in India.

Please note, we offer these teachings free of charge, however as with all visiting teachers the Center incurs extra expense. We appreciate your support and donations!
