Second Annual Sakadawa Interfaith Celebration

Kurukulla Center for Tibetan Buddhist Studies invites you to the second annual interfaith event commemorating the Life of the Buddha on Saturday, May 30th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.

Buddha was born 2633 years ago, and this commemoration (known as Sakadawa in Tibetan), is the time when the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and passing is honored. On this special occasion we are inviting friends from all faiths and backgrounds to join in an afternoon of prayer and reflection. Members of the Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh and Hindu faith communities will be presenting a prayer, reading, or song. In addition, representatives of various Buddhist traditions will be at our celebration, including monks and nuns from Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, China, Tibet, and Korea. There will be prayers for world peace, inter-religious harmony and prayers in remembrance of the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Refreshments will be served and local Tibetans will offer a cultural performance. We look forward to sharing this wonderful occasion with you.

May all beings be well and happy!
