About the Series
If you have ever wondered "Why is my child acting like this?", "Why is parenting so hard?", or "How can I help my children feel content?", then this series is for you.

Let's be honest - there is no such thing as a perfect parent. You will never have all the right answers or always do the perfect thing for your child, but you can strengthen your skills and capacity to meet your child's emotional needs. A strong social and emotional foundation in the early childhood years is key to lifelong success.

Make a commitment in the new year to reflect on your relationship with your child, and explore new perspectives for interpreting your child's behavior and your personal reactions to their behaviors. Through reflection, observation, and support, group participants are encouraged to cultivate greater wisdom in interaction with their children. With more wisdom, parents are naturally inclined to practice more compassion, and thus kindness, with themselves and their children.

This secular series is supported by a Circle of Security Parenting™ facilitator, and the format may include short videos, handouts, discussion, gentle movement, and meditation. Our goal is to create a harmonious and secure setting which encourages all participants to reflect and share, however, there are no requirements for specific style of participation.

About the Facilitator
Sarah L. Frederiksen has a Master's degree in Child Development from Tufts University and is a registered facilitator of Circle of Security Parenting™. She has completed other early childhood and wellness trainings, such as Brazelton Touchpoints and 16 Guidelines for Life, as well as 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. Sarah is also the mother of two children who challenge her every single day!

Sarah has been a student at Kurukulla Center since January 2008 and has held several roles there, including Spiritual Program Coordinator for two years. She recently completed the Foundation Service Seminar of the FPMT, the international organization with which Kurukulla Center is affiliated.
