We are pleased to announce that Kurukulla Center resident teacher Geshe Tenley will lead a virtual 3-day Green Tara Intensive Practice from Friday, February 26 through Sunday, February 28.

Arya Tara is a female Buddha and represents the enlightened activity of all the Buddhas. In Tibetan Buddhism, she is considered the "Mother of all Buddhas" as she represents the wisdom of reality from which all enlightened beings are born. Arya Tara is considered the female manifestation of the Buddha's omniscient mind. The color green is associated with the air element, and Green Tara is especially swift in granting wishes and helping practitioners achieve temporal and ultimate happiness. She is one of the most popular and beloved deities in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition and is known to quickly remove difficulties of all kinds.

According to Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, "There are so many inner obstacles to the development of your mind, and these inner obstacles create many outer obstacles. Therefore, for the success of your practice, you must rely upon a special buddha such as Tara. All the actions of the buddhas have manifested in this female form, Tara the Liberator".

Participating in this special Tara event with sincerity is a powerful method to reduce hindrances and bring success in our spiritual activities and endeavors. Since most of the recitation is done in English, the Tara sadhana we will recite is easily accessible to those unfamiliar with this type of chanting practice.

This weekend intensive will be conducted via Zoom.
