REMOVING OBSTACLES: VIRTUAL CHANTING: Tara Puja

Dear Kurukulla Center Community,

Over the past couple of years our entire world has endured great adversity and challenges. We are all doing what we can to survive, and Kurukulla Center has not been immune to this present day worldwide reality.

These past few months have been especially challenging since Geshe-la's accident. While we are so fortunate and grateful for Geshe-la's continued recovery, we have to acknowledge that these are manifestations of our karma in the form of obstacles to our happiness as a community. Wishing so will not make the obstacles go away – we need to act.

Our tradition says to come together to focus our energies with intent to remove the obstacles. Immediately after Geshe-la's accident we received advice to do pujas and also to do practice as a community. All advice has been followed, as recommended.

Notwithstanding, Bryce, Wendy and Sean have continued to meet 4-5 times a week since June 4th to deal with many very complex and challenging issues while our very kind volunteers have kept things running on a day-to-day basis. These have been some of the most challenging months in Kurukulla Center's history, and we are so grateful for everyone's support!

The challenges continue. We requested and received additional advice to do Drukchu ma torma offering nine times, which the monks at Sera Je House 2A completed on Tuesday, September 21st.

And the advice also recommended that we come together as a community to do "Tara puja for the Center and Geshe Tenley."

This is the reason for the Tara puja that we have scheduled for this Sunday, and we ask that as many people as possible participate. Even if you have not done the practice before or if you can't stay for the duration, please do what you can to be there for as long as possible. Most important is to have a sincere wish for all obstacles to be removed, for peace to come into everyone's mind, for our community to be blessed with happiness and peace, and for all sentient beings to be free from suffering.

The Tara puja is found in the Kurukulla Center Prayer book beginning on page 199.

We hope you can join us!!!
