VIRTUAL CHANTING: Medicine Buddha puja with umze Wendy Cook

Today we will perform the very precious Medicine Buddha puja practice together over Zoom. The puja is recited in English except for the recitation of the mantras which come from Sanskrit. It's not the same as chanting together in the gompa (shrine room) at the Center, however, it is still a wonderful opportunity to do the entire practice together.

If you wish, you can make offerings in your own home on your altar before the start of the puja. You can make more elaborate offerings if you wish and know how, or otherwise you can keep it simple and make any offerings large or small. Offerings are substances that are pleasing to the senses and that we like, such are flowers, incense, water bowl offerings, fruit, cookies, and so forth.

The main idea when we recite the puja is to meditate on the meaning. Medicine Buddha puja is done for health and healing, and when someone has passed away. Also, Lama Zopa Rinpoche highly recommends Medicine Buddha puja in order to bring about success in your endeavors.

The Medicine Buddha puja is found in the Kurukulla Center Prayer book beginning on page 133.

We hope you can join us!!!
