Today is the first day of the Tibetan New Year or Losar, represented as the Year of the Water Rabbit. For members of the Tibetan community, it is a joyous time to gather with friends and relatives at Kurukulla Center. Offerings are brought for the altar and prayers are recited. At 8:00 AM there will be a traditional offering ceremony where tea and sweet rice will be served to everyone. We are all invited to join!. The center will be open throughout the day for those unable to attend the morning event but would like to be part of this special day.
For the FPMT family, Losar is a special time, as it commemorates the anniversary of FPMT founder Lama Yeshe's parinirvana at dawn of Losar in 1984.
