EVENT UPDATE - Lamrim Recitation

Participation is possible either in person or online. To participate via Zoom (see below).

Geshe Tenley will not be available to teach on the Patience chapter from A Guide to a Bodhisattva's Way of Life today due to his attendance at a Wesak celebration with the local Nepalese community. He is requesting that his students still attend class and quietly do individual recitations from lamrim texts (stages to the complete path to enlightenment as taught by Buddha Shakyamuni.) Toward the end of the session, there will be an opportunity to share with the class passages found to be especially meaningful.

Participants can recite from the text of their choice such as
A Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment by Lama Atisha
The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment by Lama Tsongkhapa
Liberation in the Palm of Your Hand by Pabongka Rinpoche

or
from shorter works by Lama Tsongkhapa such as
Foundation of All Good Qualities
Lines of Experience
Three Principal Aspects of the Path

or
Praise to Satisfying Sentient Beings – A Commentary on the Awakening Mind by Arya Nagarjuna. (Kurukulla Center’s late and beloved residential teacher Geshe Tsulgala requested HH Dalai Lama to give a commentary on this text).

Please bring the text you are choosing to recite from. Alternatively, there are a number of lamrim texts in the gompa (on the shelf above the cushions) or in our library.

General information about the lamrim tradition as well as links to several texts are available on the Jangchup Lamrim site from HH Dalai Lama’s 2012-2015 teachings on the Eighteen Great Lamrim texts.

All are welcome!
