Cittamani Tara Puja for the Swift Return of Lama Zopa RInpoche
Participation is possible either in person or online. To participate via Zoom (see below).
Tonight, on the occasion of the 49th day since Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s passing, we hold a Cittamani Tara puja. The puja is chanted/recited mostly in English with some chanting in Tibetan.
If you are attending the puja in person, please bring an offering for the altar. If you are participating via Zoom, you can make offerings in your own home on your altar before the start of the puja. You can make more elaborate offerings according to the puja ritual if you wish and know how. Otherwise keep it simple and make any offerings you wish, large or small. Offerings to Tara are substances that are pleasing to our senses and that we like; traditional offerings include flowers, incense, water bowl offerings, fruit, cookies, etc.
The main idea when we recite the puja is to meditate on the meaning. Tara is a buddha who is the embodiment of enlightened activity. As such, when we connect or pray to Tara, she is very quick to help us in our endeavors, especially our beneficial endeavors. She is also beseeched in times of obstacles when creating positive energy is crucial. At Kurukulla Center we offer Tara Puja on the 8th of the month according to the Tibetan lunar calendar.
We hope you can join us either onsite or virtually!!!
