The eighth day in the Tibetan lunar calendar is especially auspicious, so we hold a Cittamani Tara puja every month on this day, as advised by Lama Zopa Rinpoche. The puja is chanted/recited mostly in English, with some chanting in Tibetan. If you are attending the puja in person, you may wish to bring an offering for the altar. If you are participating online, you can make offerings on your altar before the start of the puja. Offerings to Tara are substances that are pleasing to our senses and that we like; traditional offerings include flowers, incense, water bowl offerings, fruit, cookies, etc.
Arya Tara, a female buddha, is the embodiment of the enlightened activity of the buddhas. As such, when we connect or pray to Tara, she is very quick to help us in our endeavors, especially our beneficial endeavors. She can also aid us in times when we are facing obstacles and when creating positive energy is crucial. At this particular time, we keep in mind our fervent wish that Lama Zopa Rinpoche's unmistaken incarnation return as swiftly as possible and that all his holy wishes may be fulfilled.
We hope you can join us either onsite or virtually.
