Introduction to Buddhism with Seán González - Module 2: Meditation 101
Your Life, Your Mind, Your Choice
Meditation isn't about achieving some perfect mental state or stopping our thoughts. It's about developing awareness of how our mind works and learning to hack it to work with it skillfully. This module teaches concentration techniques (like breath work and body awareness), mindfulness practices (observing thoughts and emotions without getting hijacked by them), and how to sit with discomfort instead of immediately distracting ourselves. You'll learn the difference between placing your attention and observing what arises, and how both skills change your relationship with anxiety, reactivity, and mental chaos. No incense necessary.
Each module runs for five Saturdays, 3:00-5:00 PM. Drop in for one, some, or all—your path, your pace. Free to attend; donations welcome to keep the dharma alive and our doors open.

Seán González joined Kurukulla Center in 2004 and quickly became an integral part of our community. His interest in developing community-driven initiatives motivated him to coordinate large center events, like the Elderhostel "Day of Discovery" programmes, the Maitreya Project Relics Tour visits, and a Center visit by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in 2012. These events energized our community into high-gear participation and have greatly expanded Kurukulla's reach to a broader audience. Sean was Center Director from 2012 - 2021, resuming in 2022, and was Assistant Center Director at all other times.
