This powerful purification practice contains the elements of the four opponent powers* and includes prostration, recitation, and visualization. This practice is highly recommended by our teachers. For development along the path, it is especially important to "weed our garden" or purify the negative seeds on our mind stream.
Prostrations are a way of purifying the body, speech, and mind. They also create the cause to achieve the holy body, speech, and mind of an enlightened being. Engaging in the Practice of Prostrations to the Thirty-Five Confession Buddhas purifies negative karma, and the actual, physical prostrations are primarily a way of accumulating merit.
*1) refuge in the Three Jewels 2) recognition of our non-virtuous actions 3) carrying out a remedy 4) resolution to refrain from committing negativities.
All are welcome to join us in-person for this event!
