Kurukulla Center and the Tibetan Association of Boston are delighted to again host a special interfaith celebration on the auspicious occasion of Sakadawa. This is a very special occasion, where we invite distinguished guests and friends from all faiths and backgrounds to join us in reflection and celebration, coming together in community with prayers for world peace and harmony.
In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the month of the fourth full moon following the Tibetan New Year is called “Sakadawa.” The full moon of Sakadawa is when Shakyamuni Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and passing into parinirvana are observed. During this special time, it is said that the positive and negative results of all our actions are greatly increased, so it is a time to be especially virtuous and diligent in all activities, practice well, and try to benefit others as much as possible. This year we will especially dedicate and pray for those who have suffered from war, have died, become ill, or have experienced hardship in other ways, both in the United States and around the world.
Each year, this collection of distinguished guests, those participating by being in attendance, and our noble intentions combine to create an event which inspires great hope, love, peace, courage and determination, and strengthens the community ties that are the foundation of our collective happiness.

Please note that anything donated that exceeds the amount to cover the cost of this event will go to support Kurukulla Center's general fund, which allows us to fund regular Center operations as well as future events like this one.
