Oral Transmission of the Complete Lamrim Chenmo with Geshe Tenley
The Lamrim Chenmo or The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment by Lama Tsongkhapa is one of the most revered spiritual treatises in the world of Tibetan Buddhism. It summarizes the breadth and depth of the Buddha’s sutra teachings and is organized into a threefold division based upon the motivation of the spiritual practitioner, while excluding any motivation directed toward material gain in this life.
We are extremely happy to share that Geshe Tenley has accepted our request to give an oral transmission (lung) of the entire Lamrim Chenmo during the auspicious period of Saka Dawa! During these sessions, Geshe Tenley recites the entire text in Tibetan, giving listeners the oral transmission (Tib: lung) he received from his teacher. Receiving a transmission is considered to confer enormous benefits and acts as a seed for one’s understanding to grow and bear fruit.
The transmission follows a traditional presentation. You may attend any part of the oral transmission, but to receive it in its entirety, you should be on time and not miss any sessions. If you have the three volumes of the Snow Lion Publication's text, please bring them with you. You can purchase copies from our bookstore or from the current publisher.
If you would like to prepare for the transmission, you can read several pages from the text each day. This is in line with the advice given by Geshe-la on Losar, the Tibetan New Year.
