You are invited to join us for yoga and meditation during this time of social distancing. These are days when it is incredibly important that we take care of ourselves and also to reach out and be with others from afar. Indeed, the essence of yoga means to connect, or to yoke. For instance, connecting to self and other; connecting to the environment and the natural elements that are arising; connecting to what will cultivate balance, compassion, and insightful awareness. Yoga supports these aims and help ripen states of balance, calm, and ease within our mind and body.
Wendy and Sarah will be offering the Yoga & Meditation sessions during this time. We hope you can participate from your home. No prior yoga or meditation experience necessary. Please wear comfortable clothes - pajamas work great!
Yoga at Kurukulla Center is offered freely and while donations are gratefully received according to the students' financial ability, they are not expected. There is a donation box in the hallway just outside the meditation room.
Wendy Cook has been practicing yoga since 1987 and teaching since 2001. She is interested in making yoga accessible to all, which means encouraging people to listen to their own experience without pressure to conform or achieve. She discovered Buddhism in 1987 and was Director of Kurukulla Center from 2002-2008.
Sarah L. Frederiksen has been a student at Kurukulla Center since January 2008 and has held several roles, including Spiritual Program Coordinator for two years. She has completed 200-hour yoga teacher certification, 100-hour Soulful Yoga Therapy certification, and 200-hour Foundations of Ayurveda training.
